The (audio)book isn't bad, but I'm not too keen on going for another one from this author based on what I heard here. I'd like to give this book more stars, but there were certain issues for me that I couldn't get over. The narrator has a peculiar way of reading, making it sound like he's emphasizing each word that isn't in a character dialogue. It took a while for me to get over, because the flow of the text got kind of bumpy. As to the writing: There were too many instances of telling the reader/listener what the characters were feeling or doing - instead of showing - especially where an action or the intent to it was already stated in a dialogue. Disappointing to me was that I felt most if not all of the sex scenes rushed, almost an afterthought in some cases, and even clinical. Certain expressions were repeated throughout the book in a way that started to annoy me. The way the club and any references to BDSM were written gave me the impression the author took more creative liberties than used actual research as the basis. It may well be my experience only. I'm not in the scene either, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. As the relationship between the protagonists developed further I would've liked there to be a shift of some kind in showing the emotions also during their coupling as the men grew closer. You may well enjoy this audiobook despite of what I found problematic, so give it a try.
